Dental Surgery
Dental surgery includes different types of treatments for problems with teeth, gums, or the jaw, like removing teeth, placing implants, or fixing jaw alignment. It’s done to ease pain, treat infections, restore chewing function, or improve appearance.
The dentist or oral surgeon will use local or general anesthesia based on the type of surgery. For tooth removal, they loosen the tooth and take it out. For implants, they place a metal post in the jaw for a new tooth. Other surgeries, like gum grafts or jaw adjustments, require specific techniques. Recovery depends on the procedure, and usually includes guidance on cleaning, taking medications, and following a soft-food diet to help healing.
