Gum Graft Surgery
Gum graft surgery, also known as gingival graft or periodontal plastic surgery, is a procedure performed to correct the effects of gum recession.
It’s a common dental procedure that you might need if your gums have receded to the point where your teeth’s roots are exposed. Your dentist will take a small piece of tissue, usually from the roof of your mouth, and graft it onto the receding area. This newly grafted tissue will then help to cover the exposed roots, reducing sensitivity and preventing further damage.
